An Elegant Encounter with the Essence of Kyoto
In Higashiyama, a district steeped in quiet charm and timeless dignity,
Shiki Kaboku Higashiyama welcomes you with just eight thoughtfully designed rooms.
Amid the rich cultural heritage of Kyoto—Japan’s ancient capital for over a thousand years—
we invite you to experience not just a stay, but a sense of belonging.
Here, tradition meets contemporary sensibility.
Guests are received like family and encouraged to relax as if living in a second home.
We offer an atmosphere where both Japanese and international travelers can truly feel the understated beauty—
the refined simplicity—at the heart of authentic Kyoto.

Open-air bath
The open-air baths offer a beautiful view of Kyoto and its seasonal scenery. You can relax from the fatigue of traveling while feeling the comfortable breeze, or use it as a meditation space to face yourself while relaxing to the soothing healing music.

Roof-top
Surrounding the hotel, which is reminiscent of a mountain residence even though it is located in the city, you can see the lush greenery of Mount Higashiyama to the east and the Otorii of Heian Shrine to the north, as well as Mount Hiei. The view of Kyoto can be enjoyed with a morning coffee on a brisk morning or with a glass of champagne or beer in one hand at dusk.

Shikikaboku Original Breakfast
Enjoy the deliciousness of more than 10 kinds of Kyoto-grown vegetables and seasonal vegetables, as well as free-range eggs from Ohara Yamada Farm.

Salon
We have prepared a tatami-floored tea room with earthen walls and a woven-lattice ceiling as a
relaxing space during your stay.
Check-in and check-out procedures will be carried out here, along with seasonal Japanese sweets and green tea from Marutoshi Yoshida Meichaen, the oldest tea plantation in Japan that has been preserved for generations.

Bar SaSa
At Bar Takeba, which is surrounded by glass and has a sense of openness, you can spend a relaxing time in Kyoto with wines and whiskeys carefully selected by sommelier Eiki Takehara, as well as signature cocktails that change monthly.

Lobby Lounge
The lounge located to the left of the entrance is used as a breakfast venue for guests staying at the hotel. It also hosts seasonal workshops on Kyoto culture, which guests can enjoy.
