[August 16 only] Special Plan to view the Kyoto “Gozan no Okuribi” from the rooftop terrace
The Kyoto Gozan Okuribi, registered as an intangible folk cultural property by the city of Kyoto, is a traditional event held during Obon to send off the spirits of the dead.
You can view the Gozan Okuribi (Daimonji) from the open rooftop terrace.
■Scheduled lighting times for the Gozan Okuribi
Daimonji: Around 8:00 PM (viewable from our rooftop terrace)
Matsugasaki Myōhō: Around 8:05 PM
Funagata Mantōrō: Around 8:10 PM (viewable from our rooftop terrace)
Hidari Daimonji: Around 8:15 PM (viewable from our rooftop terrace)
Torii-gata Matsuri: Around 8:20 p.m.
■Free flow on the rooftop:
As a special perk of this plan, we will provide a variety of complimentary beverages, including sparkling wine, Kyoto craft beer, Kyoto sake, and soft drinks.
■Breakfast included the following day:
We will prepare a salad plate breakfast using locally sourced vegetables, eggs, and other carefully selected ingredients.
※The Gozan Okuribi will proceed as scheduled even in case of rain, except in cases of strong winds.
※Depending on the weather, the “Left Great Character” may also be visible.
